David Carr is an American football player who played in the National Football League for the Houston Texans as a quarterback. He was drafted in the year 2002 by the Houston Texans. He used to play his college football for Fresno State. He also associated with the teams such as Carolina Panthers, New York Giants, and San Francisco 49ers. His uncle Lon Boyett also played in the NFL with the 49ers in the year 1978.

He attended Valley Oak Elementary School in Fresno, California. He is very active in sports from childhood onwards. He has a great career in his college days when he started as a quarterback at Fresno State during the period of 2000 and 2001.

Professional Career

His professional career has started on a high as he became the first player to pick from the 2002 NFL Draft. His professional career began with Houston Texans which is a new team at that period of time. Houston Texans have won their first match against Dallas Cowboys thanks for the amazing performance of David Carr.

He played from 2002 to 2006 for the same franchise in these 5 years he has broken many records in the NFL. He had been sacked a total of 249 times during his tenure in Houston. He always had mixed results in his career as 2004 was the best year and 2005 was the worst year in his career. in the year 2004, he passed for 3,531 yards with 16 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.

Houston Texans finally decided to release carr in order to get acquired Matt Schaub from the Atlanta Falcons later carr has shocked Houston with a 6.2 million dollar deal with Carolina Panthers. He has suffered from a lot of injuries and played just 6 games in the year 2007. He was released by the Atlanta Falcons in the year 2008.

New York Giants have signed a one year deal with carr. He met his former team member Chris Palmer. He supported Eli Manning for two seasons. Later he re-signs the deal for a 2 million dollars with New York Giants for one year.

He signed again with New York Giants in the year 2011 as a backup player for Eli Manning after playing a year with San Francisco 49ers as back-up to Alex Smith.
